The New Mexico School for the Blind offers a variety of classes for blind and visually impaired children including their preschool and kindergarten program which serves children between the ages of 3 and 6, who are visually impaired or blind from Albuquerque and the surrounding areas, and a residential campus for those who need intensive compensatory skill development.

The New Mexico Commission for the Blind provides a variety of services including  an adult orientation center that provides those who are newly blinded with intensive  training in the skills needed to function successfully as a blind individual like assisitive technology, and cane travel, a business enterprise program which provides employment opportunities for blind individuals who want to operate food service facilities, and NEWSLINE for the blind which is a telephone based system that allows blind individuals to access a variety of publications and newspapers.
