The Nebraska Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired is a state ran agency that provides blind and visually impaired residents of Nebraska access to a host of programs and services that include an independent living program for both adults (ages 14-54) struggling with vision loss and a separate one for children ages 0-13 where they’ll learn the skills necessary to live a full life with their visual impairment. Other services on offer include a vocational rehabilitation program that provides work placement and career related aid to those with visual impairments, and a program for older individuals suffering from vision loss that teaches accessible technology, access to audio books, and daily living skills.
